On October 10, 2024, people around the world will celebrate World Homeless Day, while working to prevent and end homelessness and alleviate the suffering of those experiencing it.
This international day serves as a platform to celebrate good works, benchmark progress, advocate for improved policies and funding that can help prevent and end homelessness.

World Homeless Day also aims to raise awareness about the needs of people who currently experience homelessness

Well, it's October already and plans for this year's St Albans Action for Homeless and Hope House - Supported Living Auction are Ho-Ho-Go!

Our elves are busy putting the Auction site together, but of course, we can only do it with your help 😀
Do you have any prizes that you would be happy to donate please? Or do you know any local businesses that you could ask to donate a prize? All ideas, contacts and prizes very, very welcome 😀

The Auction will run first week of December.

We were overwhelmed last year by the generosity of both local businesses and individuals, and raised a fantastic amount.

With your help, we hope to make this year even bigger and better and raise even more to help our friends.

This amazing event, held in the beautiful surrounds of Verulamium Park combines the opportunity to sample a range of fabulous food from multiple pop-up restaurants, chef demonstrations by world renowned chefs and music from leading artists is sure to be an evening never to forget.

While listening to Scouting for Girls (amongst others) you can sample food from 10 top restaurants such as – The Hand and Flowers; Collision Course; Ginger Wings and Thompson St Albans - serving dishes from just £7 each. Additionally you can watch demonstrations from top chefs such as Tom Kerridge and Simon Rimmer all while supporting St Albans Action for Homeless.

These tickets are worth ~£120 so definitely worth giving yourself a chance to win this prize.

Prize draw will be drawn on August 31st @ 8pm - draw closes at 7pm.

All money raised will go directly to St Albans Action for Homeless and Hope House Supported Living. St Albans Action for Homeless provide regular immediate support for our local homeless via the provision of food, clothes and signposting to the relevant support networks they can access. Hope House is our recovery home. It is a four-bedroom house which will be for those that want to be free of addiction. Residents will be supported through their journey to be addiction-free and during their stay will be offered advice and help to access all the local amenities they need to ensure they are ultimately able to live independently.

The prize that may be awarded to the eligible winner is not transferable, redeemable for cash or exchangeable for any other prize. The prize must be redeemed on the dates stipulated. To purchase a ticket you must be 18 years or older at the time of purchase.
